Based in Toronto, Reflective Void is the independent creative practice of designer and visual artist Elaine Stam, whose work moves between graphic design, visual art and digital experimentation. Elaine is also the founder and creative director of Universe Design Studio, a Toronto-based design studio working across branding, report design and digital experiences (mostly for Canadian research departments and nonprofits).
Inspiration can start with a piece of music, an event, an image or simply an idea worth exploring. Some projects are built for a specific purpose. Others exist simply to see where a visual language can go.
The common thread is curiosity, experimentation and a focus on creating work that feels considered, unexpected and distinctly its own.
